I'm a retired newspaper reporter whose articles have appeared in more than two dozen newspapers, including the San Francisco Chronicle, Seattle Times, New Orleans Times-Picayune, Houston Chronicle, and St. Louis Post-Dispatch. For much of my career, I was the science and environmental writer for the Springfield Union-News and Sunday Republican of Massachusetts.
Born in New York City in 1948, I grew up in Huntington, N.Y. and went on to study engineering at Cornell University and fiction writing in the MFA program at University of Massachusetts. I've also published several short stories in literary magazines and I held a fiction-writing fellowship from the Massachusetts Council on the Arts and Humanities.
I live in western Massachusetts.
